Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 | RedBull 2025 TDF LTD

Specialized S-Works Tarmac, the eighth generation is finally here. The best frame on the market in terms of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness and ride quality.

Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 LTD RedBull, an exact replica of the bike that RedBull-BORA Hansgrohe rode at the 2024 TDF. The SL8 LTD comes with Roval Rapide CLX II Team wheels, Roval Rapide Cockpit, the new SRAM RED AXS groupset, S-Works Power Mirror saddle and Turbo Cotton tyres. Only 500 numbered units will be produced.

The wind tunnel was fundamental, in addition to aerodynamics what was monitored for a long time was speed. To have a faster bike the development team focused particularly on the torsional stiffness of the carbon and its ability to absorb vibrations. Through sophisticated software, the Ride Science Team was able to simulate that the Tarmac SL8 is faster on any course, same wattage and weight of the rider:

• – 16.6 seconds on 40 km flat
• – 128 seconds Milan – Sanremo
• – 20 seconds on the Tourmalet

Here are the key points of the new Tarmac Sworks SL8:

• AERODYNAMICS: it doesn't seem like it but it is, indeed. The SL8 is much more 'AERO' than the Venge and the SL7. The front end, fork and steering, have been studied in great detail to guarantee much lower aerodynamic resistance. The section of the seat post has also been significantly reduced so that the turbulent air generated by pedaling can flow out more easily.
• RIDE QUALITY: Improved stiffness-to-weight ratio of the 33% compared to the SL7. It seemed impossible to improve on the excellent handling of the SL7, yet the development team managed to make it even more stable and efficient in the most extreme situations, such as twisty descents at high speed or when the rider puts maximum power on the pedals.
• LIGHTWEIGHT: 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7, meaning the frame weighs just 685 grams.
• SOME NUMBERS: Through sophisticated software, the Ride Science Team was able to simulate that the Tarmac SL8 is faster on any course
